Payments & Insurance

What methods of payment do you accept?
We accept cash, personal checks, and credit card.

When is payment due?
Payment is due at the time of service. For insurance payments, we will charge you for your copay or deductible on the day of your visit if we have your insurance benefit details in advance. Please note that if your insurance is denied for any reason, we will attempt to assist in getting your treatment covered, but ultimately you are responsible for the cost of uncovered services.

Do you take insurance?
We are an in-network provider for PPO plans for Blue Cross, Blue Shield, Health-net, Cigna, MPI, ILWU-PMA, Pinnacle, United, UMR, and Oscar, in addition to others. We also accept some HMO plans through Blue Shield, Blue Cross, Health-net, Cigna, and Optum.

For all insurance visits, please contact us in advance of your treatment to provide your insurance information so we can confirm your benefits and network participation. Please note that we are not responsible for any incorrect information given to us by an insurance company and we encourage you to contact your insurer personally to confirm benefits.

What to Ask Your Insurance Company if You Call
The most important question to ask your insurer before you come in, is if you have acupuncture benefits. Without this benefit, your insurer will not pay for your treatment. If they say yes, ask if they will cover treatment for the health conditions you have (because sometimes they exclude reimbursement for certain conditions). To determine what kind of payment you might have, ask if you have a co-payment that is due at each treatment or what your co-insurance amount is if you have a PPO. A co-insurance amount is a percentage split of the cost rather than a flat fee like a copay. You also need to ask if you have a deductible that must be met first before they will pay, and how much has been satisfied so far. A deductible usually resets on January 1 of each calendar year, but this may vary. Lastly, ask the number of sessions per year that they will cover. The answers to these questions will help you to get a clear understanding of what types of expenses you will be responsible for after getting treatment.
